Quantum Games Hackathon

Welcome to the website of the "Quantum Games Hackathon"!

This event is organized by the Quantum AI Foundation in collaboration with members of QPoland. The aim of the hackathon is to popularize quantum computing and enhance innovations in the quantum computing domain. The hackathon will officially start on 25.09.2021 at 12:00 CET and will finish on 3.10.2021 at 20:00 CET. The participants should register individually by 24.09.2021 EoD CET but can later form teams composed of up to 5 members. Communication within teams and with the organizers will be possible through Discord (all the registered participants will receive an invitation after registration).

Prizes:

1st place: 1500 PLN

2nd place: 1000 PLN

3rd place: 500 PLN

Requirements for participation:

All interested folks should register, provide the required data and accept our Regulations and the Code of Conduct.

In short:

  1. The contest is open to participants aged 18 or older If you are interested, please register before 23.09.2021, EoD CET.

  2. We expect a maximum of 100 participants, so we reserve the right to make a selection in the event of a large number of registrations.

  3. All invited people will receive an email will the details including the exact agenda and a link to the hackathon's Discord server. On the first day (25.09.2021), participants will be asked to form teams of 1 to 5 members.

  4. All teams will be asked to submit a link to a publicly available Git repository (e.g., on Github) with the code of their project (available under the MIT license) and with a video recording (up to 5 minutes) presenting their solution.

Judging criteria:

  • Correctness: Are the assumptions and usage of quantum mechanics and quantum computing appropriate?

  • Playability: Is it entertainment for the users? Is there any educational or development potential for the target group? Is there a nice user interface?

  • Originality: How creative and innovative the idea is?

  • Quality and completeness: Is the game completed and ready to play? Is it well documented? Is the interface ready?

14:00-15:00: Entangle your fun with Qiskit - games world in IBM Q (Piotr Biskupski).

15:00-16:00: Yet another invitation to Quantum Game Theory (Piotr Gawron).

16:00-17:00: Match-making, work on projects.

17:00-19:00: Create your first quantum game in JavaScript (workshop) (Piotr Migdał).

26.09.2021:

12:00-13:00: Accessibility in games (Artur Roszczyk).

14:00-15:00: Linear algebra is actually a fun videogame: Quantum Odyssey (Laurentiu Nita).

17:00-18:00: Designing interfaces for quantum games (Klem Jankiewicz).

18:00-19:00: Mapping the Landscape of Quantum Games (Anant Sharma & Anamaría García).

27.09-2.10.2021: Work on projects

3.10.2021:

12:00: Deadline for submitting solutions.

20:00 Announcement of winners.
